Punjab Kings History

- 2008: The season was quite good for the team as they were successful in finishing the league at the third position in the points table and qualified for the knockout stage.
- 2009: The team finished at the fifth position in the table, and therefore the second season of the Indian Premier League was not good for the team.
- 2010: The 2010 Indian Premier League season was quite disappointing for the PBKS side, they got the last position in the Points table due to regularly losing the league matches.
- 2011: In this season Michael Bevan became the coach of the team, but the team was unable to qualify for the knockouts. Their position was fifth in the points table of IPL 2011.
- 2012: Like all the previous seasons, again the side was unable to qualify for the playoffs. Their performance was quite disappointing in the IPL 2012.
- 2013: Adam Gilchrist left the captaincy of the team and retired. David Miller played a great knock by scoring 101 off just 38 balls.
- 2014: The IPL 2014 season was one of the most successful seasons for the team, as they had played the Final of this season against KKR. Two promising batters, Virendra Sehwag and Glenn Maxwell became part of the side. George Bailey became the new captain of the team.
- 2015: David Miller again became the star player of the team, and played many crucial innings for the team. However, the season was very disappointing for the Punjab as they finished at the bottom of the Points Table.
- 2016: David Miller became the captain of the team and Murali Vijay played the crucial knocks for the team, the team was at the position 8th on the table.
- 2017: Again the team was unsuccessful in getting into the playoffs, Virendra Sehwad became the captain of the team and Glenn Maxwell took responsibility as the captain of the team.
- 2018: Top hitters, Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh and KL Rahul joined the side. The season was again very disappointing, the team finished at position 7 on the table.
- 2019: Another depressing year, the team finished sixth in the table.
- 2020: Again the team finished 6th in the table.
- 2021: The name was changed to Punjab Kings.
- 2022: The team finished at 6th in the table, and the disappointment continues.
